SCVNGR!

With my job travel picking back up again shortly, I figured I'd give a shout-out for one of my favorite Android apps out there : SCVNGR

When I traveled to Long Beach, California, there was a cute little robot guy with this QR code (links you to the app market for SCVNGR)  So I downloaded the app, thinking this game might be kinda fun to pass some time during my one day off from work.  As I walked up and down 'the strip' near one of the many beaches, I could take pictures of where I was at, write a little ditty about the place, and the most fun I had?  Some places have specific challenges to complete!!  It turned out to be so much fun, I kept playing when I came back home, and got my friends to download the app as well.  Now we can "check in" with each other at places, and even create our OWN challenges ^_^

I encourage any of you out there who enjoy social networking to get this app and start playing!  My SCVNGR name is Jaden L if you want another friend :)

Inception

How weird is it to have a nightmare within a nightmare?  It's like that Inception movie, where you have multiple layers within the dream state...  It was eerie, to say the very least.  Plus, how weird is it when your dad offers you sleep medication, taking note that he knows I don't like to take it, because I've not been sleeping well..... within my own dream...  I do wish I'd have slept a little better though... It's unnerving not knowing if you're actually awake or not.

Time to make breakfast.  That should help the hunger... And then clean... maybe that will help the mind clutter :)

December

I found an apartment in Solon by the end of October, and it has been quite nice there.  The town is small, but rather cute, with a local 'market' that has just about everything a person could need on short notice.

I have finished up this year's implementations and trips, so it seems I have a few weeks to finish (or start) some projects during Shutdown.  I'll be fairly free until the second week in January, when 2011 implementations will commence.  Speaking of, I have some studying up to do on that one, before the end of the year... But there's still time for that.

I'm hoping by the end of this month, I will have learned to snowboard.  That is the goal of this month... Snowboarding.  By next month, we'll see if that has actually happened :-)

Housing

An update on the Gixxer... front brakes are fixed, but I'm thinking the rear brakes need a master cylinder rebuild or something.  Bleeding them has done no good.

An update on the housing front... I have a couple showings lined up, which is quite good. I've very much been looking forward to this time.  And hopefully with tomorrow's showing in Iowa City, I'll have found a real cute place with utilities included with rent, with a little patio thing and sunshiny windows ^_^  I'll have to figure out where to put all my fishies though... I'm thinking the Associate can build me a fishy tank; a pretty big one so I can throw all my baby fish in there too... That sounds delightful :)

I suppose the only other updates I have are the not-so-happy kind.... my cousin passed away last weekend... and my sister's car got totaled although she was thankfully okay.  Luckily, or so far, those are the only not good things that have happened.

In upcoming events... the Associate and I are going to his cousin's wedding this weekend.  Should make for a pretty good time, especially since we can stay overnight and not worry about driving home. Oi. That would have made for a very, VERY long evening. In a couple weeks I have my install to Long Beach, California and that will hopefully turn out pretty good :)

Testing Results

The results from my certification testes are in : I passed with flying colors! Yay ^_^  Unfortunately, however, my status is still non-billable, through October it looks like *smallest of sighs*  Darn.  I could have used the pay grade but *shrugs* what can you do, right?

In other news, I'm looking for housing and a new job.  I could really use a steady paycheck, and when Autumn rolls around I'll have fewer installations to do, which means less money coming in.  So, perhaps if I start looking now, I'll find something by the end of the year.  Or maybe something part time could pad my hours... That may be an idea.

For now, or for today at least, it's time to work on the Gixxer.... darn rear brakes went out when my line sprung a (very very slow) leak.  Blast... Luckily I think I have the parts I need, though I'll really know after I get halfway through.  Isn't that the way it always goes? Heh...
